FC Barcelona beat AS Roma by 6 goals to 1 on Tuesday at the Nou Camp, having dismantled arch-rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. Lionel Messi, the 4 times Ballon d’Or winner scored twice against Roma and was subbed on at minute 60 against Real Madrid, where he showed glimpses of his magical self. Neymar having scored the 2nd at Bernabeu failed to convert from the penalty spot against Roma, and Suarez scored a brace in each of the two games.

It seems as if Barcelona’s front three are almost impossible to put shackles on, and with a midfield so solid, it’ll take some special performances to break Barcelona’s stranglehold. Luis Enrique, Barcelona’s manager, has proved all critics wrong, getting his tactics spot on and right now it seems as if everything he touches turns into gold. The 45 year old Spaniard was full of praise for his team, “When you see your players having fun out on the pitch, you’re happy. Of course we can still improve a lot of things. In a sport as complex as football, there’s always room for improvement. We’re in a good moment and we have to take full advantage.” He said.

Appreciating Barcelona’s front three’s exceptional form, Luis Enrique said: “It’s very good for the team to have them up front [Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez]. They make our entire team better.”

It’s imminent with the current run of form Barcelona are enjoying, it’ll take them some time to slow down. But with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munchen and the likes of Juventus, PSG lurking just around, how the current European Champions are going to defend their title remains immensely interesting.
