New Delhi, July 5: Muslims in India and Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on thursday, July 7 as the moon of the Shawwal month had not been sighted today in many parts of the country. Eid is celebrated on 1st day of Shawwal, which also ends the one month of continuous fasting during the holy month of Ramazan.
Jama Masjid Shahi Imam, Ahmed Bukhari today said, “Moon has not been sighted in any parts of the country, hence Eid (2016) will be celebrated on July 7, Thursday”. Also India’s moon sighting committee, Markazi Ruyat-e-Hilal Committee, Masjid-e-Jama Mumbai declared that there are no news of moon in Maharashtra. There were no news of moon in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra including the national capital.
