ERDOGAN’S THREAT TO US: Turkey says America not extraditing Gulen will be ‘big mistake’

news5sf54sfPresident Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Fethullah Gulen, a long-time resident of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, of orchestrating the July 15 abortive coup in which over 200 people were killed.

Washington has said Ankara must provide clear evidence of Gulen’s involvement in the attempted coup before it will consider extraditing him.

The popular president whose people helped resist the military coup said he did not want to destroy relations with the US, but the country should do as they are asked.

Erdogan promised to deliver evidence of Gulen’s involvement, while suggesting there were foreign countries involved in the coup attempt.

The leader of the Justice and Development Party, Erdogan, said he was officially declaring three months of state emergency.
