MQM’s three women workers remanded in police custody

new5s45s445fKARACHI: Three women supporters of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) were produced in a local court and later handed over to police on four-day physical remand in a case pertaining to August 22 attack on media houses in Karachi, Samaa reported Saturday.

The MQM workers were arrested yesterday over vandalism and assault on ARY News office and Samaa TV’s DSNG van on August 22 following provocative and anti-Pakistan speech by London-based party chief Altaf Hussain.

Those who have been apprehended are: MQM Women Wing in-charge Rabia, her daughter Qurat-ul-Ain, who is also MQM’s Councilor of City Council in Karachi, and Sumaira Bibi, party’s Burns Road sector member.
