RAWALPINDI: The driver and guard of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed have been taken into custody here on Friday.
According to police sources, the guard and driver of the AML chief were taken into custody near the New Katrian area of the city.
The car of Sheikh Rashid has also been been seized, police sources added.
This latest development comes as security forces surrounded the residence of Sheikh Rasheed in Rawalpindi and Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala.
Speaking to Geo News on Friday morning, Sheikh Rasheed said he would be holding a rally on Friday, adding that is expecting to be arrested by the government. “If my arrest is inevitable, I would want to be arrested while I am with my people,” Rasheed said.
Containers placed outside Lal Haveli
Roads leading to Lal Haveli, the residence of Sheikh Rasheed have been blocked by containers. The AML cheif has challenged Rawalpindi administration, stating that he will address a rally outside his residence at 2 PM.
