Islamabad: The federal cabinet on Wednesday decided that it would sue British daily The SUN for publishing a story about fake passports being made and false Visa being issued in Pakistan.
The paper had claimed that the potential terrorist might sneak into Britain as support staff for players during Olympic games, using fake Pakistani passports.
Pakistani cabinet, which met Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in the chair showed concern over the story before NADRA chairman and DG Passport informed it about departmental inquiry into the issue.
Both the officers told the cabinet that newspaper’s story was baseless as no fake passport was issued by the Pakistani staff.
The cabinet decided that it would file cases against the newspaper and would sue it in British courts for publishing false story.
Federal Minister Babar Khan Ghouri why innocent female employees were picked up by the investigator when it was in their knowledge that the story was false.
Adviser to PM Rehman Malik said that names of those involved in the conspiracy against Pakistan would be put on Exit Control List (ECL).
